Taking the Final Step: Mock Disasters

The last step to completing the FBCI curriculum is the successful completion of the Mock Disaster. This is a fun Saturday event in which the Action Team sets up and carries out sheltering activities as they would in an actual disaster. It is an opportunity for the team to work out any quirks, to think through all those incidents that may arise, and to get to know one another a little better.

We currently have two Mock Disasters on the calendar in November, and we would like to invite any members of other FBCI teams who have completed the Mock Disaster to attend. You can either play the part of a client in need of assistance, or you can be an observer and help Kira and me evaluate the activity. The Mock Disaster is typically from 8 am until 1 pm on a Saturday, but as a client you would not need to be present the entire time. This is a great way of refreshing your skills, meeting other FBCI partners, and sharing ideas. If you are interested in attending, please contact Kira or me and we will send you the details.
